Colleen McCarthy was born in a small town in Victoria; the product of several generations who had resided therein. A strange turn of events in her teens saw her thrust into a type of partial nomadism, and she has been photographing ever since.
This has led to the honing of an eye that quickly familiarises itself with the new and develops an instinctual intimacy with form, interior, the spatial and corporeal. Alongside this exists the ability to seek out the accomodations and beauties of structural anatomy - of architecture both mundane and otherwise. Always seeking the numinous in the landscape; identifying conduits to a sense of place.
